Steve Brogan is a comic ventriloquist who is a Christian.  His interest in ventriloquism started at an early age. Through the performances of his uncle, Bill Spake, Steve’s interest was sparked to learn more about how to be a ventriloquist.

He now speaks and performs across the country for a variety of different church events such as appreciation banquets, Upward Celebrations, children and youth rallies, holiday events and family nights. He also lectures at resource conferences, drama and comedy workshops and seminars. It is safe to say that if Steve Brogan comes to your church event, you will not want to miss him and his hilariously funny “friends”.

Steve Brogan showed his uncle, Bill Spake, an interest in ventriloquism at age seven.  Uncle Bill was a professional entertainer and would teach Steve his skills as a ventriloquist when he was home. Steve chose to have a personal relationship with Christ at age eleven at his grandmothers church.  Grandma Spake was a huge spiritual influence on Steve for the rest of her life. At the age of fifteen, Steve began using ventriloquism in children’s worship as a tool to reach children with the Gospel. He also became very active in Bible Studies and Bus Ministry.  God led Steve to become a Children’s Pastor and he held that position for 15 years.

Steve graduated from Campbell University in North Carolina and still returns to perform for incoming freshmen classes. After many years of performing, teaching Bible Study and leading youth and children’s worship, Steve has not lost his first love – that of entertaining and teaching all ages that laughter is truly a gift from God and that our “life choices” provide us a way to show God our love for Him.

Steve has been married 36 years to Carlette and has two daughters, Tiffany and Tori, one son-in-law, Jason and one granddaughter, Piper. Carlette manages Steve’s schedule and travel details in addition to owning and operating her own internet shopping website at www.shopbrogan.com.

Steve Brogan has developed the talent God gave him to the level of a skilled professional and has won national awards in ventriloquism throughout the years. He now performs for hundreds of events a year and incorporates laughter into teaching spiritual truths about God and His love. “I feel very fortunate to be able to make people laugh for my living.” says Steve. “I not only enjoy my work, but get paid to have fun, watch others laugh and teach about God’s great love for us. What kind of job could be better?”  It’s safe to say, Steve Brogan knows what his future holds: it seems to be working with dummies.
